RF Industries introduces a low PIM adapter for quick mate QMA to connect with an N type interface

QMA Connector

QMA connectors feature a snap lock connection as an alternative to the SMA connector with a threaded connection. The QMA connector, with a quick connect disconnect feature along with excellent electrical performance up to 6 GHz, is used in wireless infrastructure applications including DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems).

The RQA-5478 between series adapter features a QMA female to N male interface that will allow connection of a QMA male terminated cable assemble to equipment with an N female connector. The adapter is manufactured with a machined brass body, plated in a durable tri-metal (white-bronze) finish. The contact is tri-metal (white-bronze). The adapter is rated for low PIM performance of ≤-155 dBc using 2 tones at 20 watts.

RF Industries adds Female Barrel Adapter to Extensive line of 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN Adapters

SMB Panel Mount

The 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN connector interface has been used in wireless infrastructure and DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) applications. Essentially a compact version of the 7/16 DIN connector interface, the 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN offers good electrical performance and low PIM (Passive Intermodulation).

RF Industries introduces the 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN female-to-female barrel adapter, part number RFD-4195-1953. The adapter is manufactured with machine brass body, plated in a durable tri-metal (white-bronze) finish with a PIM rating of less than or equal to -160 dBc using 2 tones at 20 watts.

In addition to the female-to-female adapter, RF Industries offers ten 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN in-series and between-series adapters to N and 7/16 DIN interfaces.

Custom SMB Panel Mount Jack Designed to Accommodate Test Equipment

SMB Panel Mount

A defense contractor application required a custom SMB jack coaxial connector to be attached to a piece of test equipment. The requirement included mechanical and electrical parameters as well as a pressure seal of the connector to the panel.

Aviel Electronics designed a panel mounted SMB jack with a threaded passivated stainless steel type 303 body and hex nuts. A silicone rubber O-ring design on the body seals the finished assembly for pressurization. Black polyether ether ketone (PEEK) thermoplastic polymer was utilized as the internal insulator with DuPont Teflon as the insulator for the SMB connector. The center contact is plated with mil-standard gold.

All aspects of the design, manufacture and testing were performed in the United States to comply with the customers’ sourcing requirements.

QMA Assembly

Precision High Frequency SSMA Connector Operates in High Vibration Applications

SSMA Connector

A military aerospace manufacturer with a custom antenna design required an RF coaxial connector that would perform in a high vibration environment. The connector’s mechanical requirements include termination onto .085 inch semi-rigid cable, chassis mounting and SSMA interface. The electrical requirements included operating frequency up to 26 Ghz. A standard chassis mount SSMA connector would meet the basis requirements, however would not perform in a high vibration environment.

Aviel’s design team developed a custom connector with floating body and pin that allow both axial and radial movement while maintaining excellent electrical performance to 26 Ghz. To meet the high vibration application, the pin movement is independent of the body. Custom spring designs of Elgiloy Cobalt-Chromium-nickel non-magnetic alloy were utilized for the body and contact movements. The body components are manufactured of machined 303 stainless steel and the contact of beryllium copper with MIL-STD gold plating.

All aspects of the design, manufacture and testing were performed in the United States to comply with the customers’ sourcing requirements.

Custom Multi-Conductor Cable Harness for Industrial Laser Application

Multi Conductor Cable Harness

A manufacturer of industrial lasers used for etching integrated circuit wafers required a series of cables and harnesses to connect the various functions of the machine. Included in the requirement was a single entry point for the cables to pass through a bulkhead. The electronic signals for the cabling included RF, power, data and video. Due to the industrial application, the assemblies needed to operate in a high vibration and require sufficient shielding to endure an extreme noisy RF environment. RF Industries provided the design, fabrication and testing of the various cables, including the methodology to encapsulate into a single lightly armored jacket for passing through the bulkhead and survive the harsh environment. Design and fabrication were provided by the Multi-Conductor product group of RF Industries in San Diego.

Low PIM 7/16 DIN Bulkhead Adapter for Wireless Infrastructure OEM Applications

NP-P2RFD-1654-4

7/16 DIN connector interface has been the choice for wireless infrastructure applications for its high power and low intermodulation characteristics. RF Industries expands their line of 7/16 DIN connectors and adapters with a female to female bulkhead adapter, part number P2RFD-1654-4.

The adapter is manufactured with a machined brass body, with tri-metal (white-bronze) plating for a durable finish with low PIM properties. Double flats are machined on two sides along with a lock washer and hex nut provide for securely mounting to a panel or bulkhead. A recessed O-ring provides weather sealing. VSWR is less than 1.2:1 within the operating frequency of 0-8Ghz. PIM rating is better than minus 155 dBc @2X43dBm.

RF Industries Expands offering of Low PIM 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN Adapters with 2 New Variations

In addition to 8 variations of 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN to N type and 7/16 DIN adapters, RF Industries developed a 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN male to female right angle and straight adapters. The 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN is essentially a compact version of the 7-16 DIN with similar electrical performance. Applications include wireless infrastructure sites, indoor/outdoor DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) requiring low PIM (Passive Intermodulation) performance.

The right angle adapter features a radius internal design that provides constant 50 ohm impedance for optimum electrical performance to 7.5 GHz. Both adapters have large hex nuts on the male interface for easy mating with a torque wrench. All adapters are manufactured with brass bodies in durable non-tarnish tri-metal (white bronze) plating with a PIM rating of less than or equal to -160dBc using 2 tones at 20 watts.

Plenum Cable Mini Adapter

The 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN connector interface is essentially a compact version of the 7/16 DIN with applications on DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) and wireless infrastructure. RF Industries manufactures 4.1/9.5 (Mini) DIN male connectors and terminates them onto Times Microwave plenum rated low PIM cables SPP-250-LLPL™ and TFT-402-LF. The SPP-250-LLPL™ is a ¼ inch super-flexible corrugated cable. The TFT-402-LF is an extremely flexible, flat braided, low minimum bend radius cable similar to semi-rigid .141 cable. Both cables meet UL910 fire requirements and exhibit low loss and low PIM (Passive Intermodulation) performance. The finished assemblies PIM performance meets or exceeds minus 160 dBc.

Cable assemblies are available in standard 1 and 2 meter lengths as well as custom lengths. RF Industries attaches the connectors via soldering the center pin and induction soldering to the cable outer conductor, providing excellent VSWR performance and reliable PIM performance. Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) installations in buildings use large numbers of coaxial cable assemblies with special requirements. The assemblies need to efficiently transfer the RF signal (low loss), reduce the occurrence of interference caused by intermodulation (low PIM), fit into tight mechanical spaces (flexible) and meet building fire codes (plenum rated). Most coaxial cable assemblies meet some of these requirements, but fall short of meeting them all.

Wireless infrastructure installations require DC power for up the tower and in the building applications. RF Industries provides outdoor and indoor multi-conductor composite power cables in standard and custom configurations.

Outdoor DC Power cables run power up the tower to support Fiber-to-the-Antenna (FTTA) applications. RF Industries manufactures standard configurations that include 2 conductor 8 gauge, 2 conductor 10 gauge, 2 conductor 12 gauge and 6 conductor 8 gauge insulated tinned copper wires rated for 600 volts. All cables include tinned copper braid and aluminum tape shield with a drain wire. The cables are UL Type TC (Tray Cable) approved with PVC jacket that are sunlight resistant and are approved for direct burial applications.

Indoor DC Power cable, TelcoFlex® III by Southwire, is the industry standard when it comes to indoor DC power cabling. New N Connectors Simplify Installation on High Performance Coax Cables

N Connectors

Proper installation of RF connectors onto coax cable is critical in wireless system performance. Two new N male connectors simplify the installation process by eliminating the need to trim the braid during cable preparation. The RFN-1006-49I features a solderless captive pin and the RFN-1006-4I features a crimp pin. Both connectors are compatible for high performance cables such as Times Microwave LMR®-400, CommScope CNT®-400, Belden 9913, and RF Industries CBL-CU400®. Combination hex/knurl coupling nuts allow for tightening by hand or wrench. White Bronze (tri-metal) plating eliminates tarnishing while providing improved electrical performance and reduced PIM (Passive Intermodulation). Exceptional VSWR of less than 1.10 to 1 up to 3Ghz and less than 1.20 to 1 up to 8Ghz is achieved through an enhanced impedance matching design. Industry standard tooling can be used for cable preparation and crimp termination. Heat shrink and assembly instructions are included with each connector. Connector Saver with Stainless Steel Coupling Nut Reduces Testing Expense

P2RFD-1660-SS Connector Saver

7-16 DIN CONNECTORS are large format 50 ohm interfaces designed for high power wireless telecommunications applications such as antennas, base stations, and satellite communications.

Test ports are subject to minimal wear each time the connector interface is coupled and de-coupled. Contact pins and dielectrics can be damaged if connectors are misaligned during coupling. It is far more cost effective to introduce a "connector saver" adapter as the adapter mated directly to the test port adapter. One mating cycle on the test port to five hundred or more on the connector saver increases the testing life of the test port. Any misaligned matings will damage the connector saver, not the test port interface.

The P2RFD-1660-SS low loss, low VSWR, precision adapter performs this function when testing 7-16 DIN connectors and assemblies. After carefully installing the P2RFA-1660-SS on the test port, hundreds of tests, even PIM testing (requiring greater torque per test to insure proper ground) can be performed before wear requires replacement. The P2RFD-1660-SS adapter is machined to exacting specifications with a white bronze plated body and stainless steel coupling nut for tarnish free service.

Fiber Optic Cables—High Density MTP

Cables Unlimited offers Corning fiber assemblies using Multi-fiber Termination Push-on (referred to as MTP) connectors designed by USConec. This compact design allows high-density connections between network equipment. A simple push-pull latching mechanism provides easy insertion and removal. Where space is an issue, the MTP allows for more connectors on the overcrowded faceplate, thus reducing the footprint of the systems. It will interface with current MPO connectors. Though about twice the size as an SC connector it can hold up to 12 fibers, thereby providing up to 12 times the density.

Custom SMA to MCX Adapter Supports Machine Design

Custom SMA to MCX Adapter

An OEM manufacturer required a special SMA plug to MCX jack configuration for an over molding process to fit their custom equipment design. The SMA plug to MCX jack adapter required a non-moveable SMA end to over mold, producing an external waterproof seal when mated with a standard off-the-shelf SMA jack. The AB-SMA-JKMA-3P01 special adapter was mounted directly to their unit and molded in place. This allowed an RF electrical connection to standard ports with modified external configurations, accommodating the intent of the finished product.

Most times when a standard connector cannot be used it is due to special mechanical or electrical requirements. A custom adapter offers the equipment designer allowances to produce the best device they can at a cost savings in the design approach and manufacture they have chosen. The custom adapter fills the customer’s special needs when a standard off-the-shelf connector or adapter is not available.

Special SMB Adapter Allows .060 Axial Shift

Sometimes the most effective and economical design for a piece of equipment requires a custom adapter to function. Aviel Electronics recently designed such an SMB jack adapter. The CO-SMB-JKMA-3P01 is a panel-mount with a modified interface to allow external sealing and a .060 axial shift when mated with a standard off-the-shelf SMB plug. This special adapter allows RF electrical connection to a non-standard unit, thereby permitting the use of standard off-the-shelf RF connectors.

Portable Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) analyzers require rugged adapters that withstand varying field environments while maintaining error correction ratios. White Bronze plating offers a tarnish free non-magnetic solution with electrical performance rivaling Silver plated products. Stainless steel coupling nuts allow repetitive torque settings of 18 ft-lbs minimum for DIN males and 30 in-lbs maximum for N males. RF Directional Coupler Offers hard to Find Interfaces

RF directional couplers are readily available with common interfaces such as N type female connectors. Aviel Electronics, a division of RF Industries, designs and manufactures RF directional couplers with uncommon interfaces such as the HN female shown in the photo. The HN coaxial interface is a high-voltage version of the N interface and is used in specialized applications. Other interfaces are available. Model number Z-344, shown in the picture, operates in a frequency range of 700 to 850 MHz with power handling capability of 40KW peak power (120W average power). Insertion loss is less than 0.2dB and VSWR is less than 1.1 for both the main and secondary lines. Forward coupling is 43 dB isolation. Reverse coupling is 33 dB isolation.

Test grade cables are desired in applications where multiple connector attachment and continuous flexing demands are a priority. RF Industries now offers a line of 18GHz precision test cables in standard or custom lengths, suitable for production or lab environments. Featuring high-grade, passivated, stainless steel SMA males with PTFE insulators, this unique cable is configured for low loss and low VSWR. Conduit-Ready cable makes home wiring easy

In the home entertainment market we see a large demand for conduit-ready VGA (video graphics array) or RGB cables. These cables are used to connect computers, projectors, monitors and flatscreens. In the past, most people who used these cables were audio-video contractors and installers who used them in sports bars and presentation halls. Many adventurous homeowners are now purchasing them for their home theaters, with the simplicity of doing it themselves with conduit-ready cable.

Conduit is run through walls, ceilings and floors, usually with several sweeping bends. This is typically done during the construction or remodeling phase of a building. The conduit is metal or PVC tubing, large enough to accommodate a VGA connector. This large diameter conduit can be very expensive.

Our conduit-ready VGA cable reduces costs by using smaller diameter conduit and attaching the VGA connector afterward. Event Recorder Cable provides long-wear patient comfort

From the Bioconnect engineering team comes yet another innovative patient cable. Our new addition answers a need for a robust, yet very small profile cable to be used with today’s compact "Holter" type event recorders. Because the cable leads are attached to the patient and worn over a period of hours and days, this cable’s design must satisfy user’s comfort issues while insuring performance and reliable connectivity. This new five-lead cable features gold plated "no-touch" pins terminating color coded, shielded snap leads that are molded into a single, unitized Santoprene plug. This polarized, 6-pin plug is designed with a unique passive locking mechanism for positive retention. This allows easy, error-proof insertion and extraction while retaining signal connectivity. The ANSI/AAMI EC-53 1995 Standard for ECG Cables and Leadwires and IEC60601-1 requirements are met by this new design.

The mating connector for this new cable is also designed and manufactured by Bioconnect. It is a molded circuit board header housing gold-plated, caged jack contacts. This assembly is made to be affixed directly to a circuit board or can be mounted to the device enclosure.

Bioconnect products meet ANSI/AAMI EC53 specifications. All phases of manufacture from tool and mold design to product fabrication using precision solder, ultrasonic welding and insert molding techniques are performed in our San Diego production facility.

Kit combines precision 3.5mm adapters for high frequency applications

The RFA-4031-01 kit features three 3.5mm precision adapters added to the RF Connector product line for use in microwave and RF applications. All 3.5mm adapters in this series have 50 ohm impedance and are made of non-magnetic, 303 stainless steel with beryllium copper contacts, supported with a bead configuration. They are designed to operate up to 34 GHz with a VSWR rating of 1.05+.006 f (f-GHz) max, and have the same electrical length. 3.5mm series coaxial connectors and adapters inter-mate with SMA and 2.9mm connectors and are used primarily on test equipment. Female contacts feature a four-slot configuration, ensuring that pressure is distributed evenly during the engagement of the male pin, a design which, when combined with a shortened male pin, eliminates misalignment during engagement.

The majority of N type connectors are installed at remote sites exposed to the environment. The RF Connectors Division of RF Industries offers an improved N male connector for high performance .400 inch diameter cables. Part number RFN-1006-I-WB features white bronze plating for a non-tarnish finish with enhanced electrical performance. The plating is ferrous metal free, which reduces inter-modulation interference. A ridged back end provides better sealing for the heat shrink boot included with the connector. A combination hex/knurl coupling nut allows for wrench or finger mating. UHF Connectors for Heliax® Cable

Availability of UHF connectors for LDF4-50A ½ inch Andrew Heliax® cable was limited to the secondary market when manufacturing ceased several years ago. RF Connectors division of RF Industries has released UHF male and UHF female connectors for LDF4-50A ½ inch cable to fill that need. These connectors utilize the same installation process and tooling required for the discontinued connectors. Manufactured with white bronze plated, machined brass bodies, these new connectors feature silver plated phosphor bronze contacts and PTFE dielectric. White bronze is resistant to tarnish, but has high conductivity and low (IM) intermodulation. The male connector, RFU-502-H1, and the female connector, RFU-520-H1 also work with Andrew LDF-4-50A cable, Andrew LDF4-RN-50A cable, RFS 810918-001 cable, RFS LCF12-50J cable and Eupen 5128 cable.

Santoprene Thermoplastics offer advantages for molded cable assemblies in medical applications

Shielded Cable

Bioconnect uses Santoprene as a primary molding material and outer insulation material in all of standard ECG products. Santoprene is a thermoplastic compound that is processed in much the same way as any type of plastic. The difference is that Santoprene possesses the same levels of flexibility and durability that are commonly found with natural rubber compounds. Santoprene is latex free and hypoallergenic to patients. It has a very soft, yet supple feel, resulting in a pleasant contact with the skin. It is abrasion resistant and does not get slippery when exposed to many fluids. Santoprene is also impervious to most solvents that would be commonly used in the hospital, clinic, and emergency medicine environments. The positive traits of Santoprene also make it a primary component in the fabrication of medical devices to be used in the home environment, such as event recorder cables and exercise and therapy equipment. The choice of Santoprene in the cable jacketing and overmolding materials creates a very solid bond between cables, yoke and flex relief. This increases the products life and helps eliminate places for contaminants and biologics to hide. Santoprene can also be sterilized using most common methods, including gamma radiation, steam and EtO. Santoprene is also easily recycled. After products made with Santoprene have seen better days, the same material can be reprocessed and molded into new products. This easily recycled substance helps eliminate unwanted items ending up in landfills.

Because of the many desirable characteristics of Santoprene, Bioconnect also promotes its use in most of its OEM products that have medical applications, along with automotive and household products.

Solderless Right-Angle QMA Connector Reduces Installation Time

Traditional right-angle connectors require soldering the center conductor, which increases the difficulty of field installation and time required. RF Connectors division of RF Industries produces a solderless right-angle QMA connector, part number RQA-5010-8X. The QMA series connector is similar to the SMA internal configuration with a snap-on interface that allows for mating and un-mating without the use of tools. The connector features a sliding snap-lock mechanism that works by sliding the shell back and releasing to lock both connectors in place. After mating, QMA connectors can be rotated 360°. Designed to mate with all QMA jacks, they offer good electrical performance up to 6 GHz.

The RQA-5010-8X connector terminates .240 inch diameter high-performance, low-loss cables: Times Microwave LMR®-240, Andrew Cinta CNT-240®, CommScope WBC-240®, or Belden RF-240®. Universal Cable Test Kit for Wi-Fi and Broadband Applications

Wireless, Wi-Fi and Broadband infrastructure installation requires cables for RF and data throughput. Testing these cable assemblies in the field can be difficult with the variety of unique connectors available today as well as the popular reverse polarity styles. The RFA-4028-WIFI kit by RF Connectors, a division of RF Industries, simplifies the task. The kit contains a Unidapt RF Cable tester (RFA-4018-20) with an assortment of 30 universal adapters, including male and female MMCX, N, Reverse Polarity TNC, Reverse Polarity SMA, TNC, BNC and SMA connector interfaces. By joining two adapters using a universal center included in the kit, coaxial adapters can be made with any combination of these interfaces. The RFA-4018-20 coaxial cable tester is a solid-state continuity checker that measures for opens and shorts. The LED display indicates continuity for the shield and center conductor, as well as check for shorting across conductor paths. An additional continuity tester is included for testing CAT5/5E/6 straight through or crossover RJ-45, UTP, 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T EIA/TIA 568A/568/B network cables. The LED display on the tester identifies the cable pairs and indicates a correctly wired cable. It will also identify crossed pairs or miss-wired pairs. The kit is housed in a foam-lined impact resistant plastic case.

Many medical environments and applications require shielded patient cables with low signal loss and ruggedized construction. 7/16 DIN connectors are large format 50 ohm interfaces designed for high power wireless telecom applications. RF Connectors, division of RF Industries, introduces two versions of 7/16 DIN connectors for Times LMR®-600 cable. The RFD-1600-2L2 attaches to the cable with a solder/clamp method. The RFD-1605-2-L2 attaches with a crimp/solder method. Both connectors have a combination feature that allows them to be assembled for straight or right angle applications in the field. Both connectors conform to the DIN specification of silver plated bodies and pins with PTFE dielectric. The coupling nuts are designed with a hex/ knurl combination that allows for hand or wrench tightening.

Originally developed and deployed in Europe, the 7/16 interface has gained acceptance in North America. DIN is an acronym for Deutsche Industries Norm, a German standard. 7/16 is derived from the diameter of the center contact (7mm) and the diameter of the outer contact (16mm). Characteristics of the design include silver plated connector bodies and contacts for reduced signal distortion from intermodulation. Operating frequency range is up to 7.5Ghz.

WiFi Connectors

Aviel Electronics designs and manufactures “unique coupling connectors” for antenna connections that require compliance with Part 15.203 of the Federal Communications Commission regulations. The connectors range from totally custom to a specific application to a modified version of a standard connector interface to a “standard” reverse polarity interface. Flange mount, crimp and compression cable mounts can be used with uniquely interfaced connector pairs to preclude the possibility of erroneous component mismating. “Coded” pairs can also be fabricated to add further uniqueness within a family of connector components. Materials used in construction are stainless steel, brass or aluminum bodies, beryllium copper contacts with gold, silver or other popular platings available.

Santoprene increases new patient cables durability and patient comfort and safety

Bioconnect Patient cables are now constructed using cable designed with medical grade Santoprene (TPE) jacket, copper center conductors, PE insulation and dual shielding. This low noise cable minimizes tribo-electric noise and electrical interference. Robust, Santoprene flex reliefs are located at yoke and device ends of all cables ensuring long life and reducing continuity disruption. This series of five-lead Patient cables are designed for use with unshielded Safety DIN 42-802 lead wires and are available for use with many AAMI 5 and 6 pin, Phillips 8, 12 and 17 pin and GE Marquette monitors. To facilitate lead attachment, cable yokes are labeled to clearly show channel designations and AHA or IEC color codes. Sheet Clips anchor cables in place while in use. Fixed-lead, shielded versions of all cables are also available.

Hermetically Sealed Connectors

The Aviel Electronics Division of RF Industries will design and fabricate hermetically sealed connectors to handle your sealing requirements. Once the connector series and body configuration is established, the inner construction of the connector can be designed to supply the sealing required for your operating environment. Sealing can be accomplished by using O-rings, epoxy seals and glass-to-metal seals. Seals can easily withstand air pressures of 100 PSI+ of pressure and helium leak rates of <1 x 10 -8 cc/second of helium tracer gas. Applications can range from moisture resistance sealing, space applications, material detection systems, isolation of volatile materials, and altitude problems. Connectors can be supplied in configurations from small custom designs through SMA, TNC, N, SC and HN sizes, and in body configurations from bulkhead, screw-in, flange mount, and press-in designs.

GE Medical Systems Compatible Patient Cables

The Bioconnect division of RF Industries announces the release of a new series of ECG patient trunk cables. This line includes unshielded three and five lead cables with or without resistors for use with safety DIN leads snap and pinch wires; and three and five lead, one-piece, shielded cables terminated with snaps or pinch-grabbers. These new products are compatible with many monitoring products from GE Medical Systems: Dash 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000; Eagle MAC Lab; Eagle Systems; Tram 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800; Tramscope 12, 12C; Unity Systems; and Solar 3000, 8000, 9500. Cables are available color coded to Standard AHA, Alternate AHA, Standard IEC and Alternate IEC color configurations. Cables meet ANSI/AAMI EC53 specifications and requirements of DIN 42-802. Cables are fabricated using low noise and capacitance cable for optimum signal quality and Santoprene® (TPE) latex-free jacket, molded yoke and strain reliefs for increased cable life. TPE is impervious to most cleaning solvents.

These unitized patient cables offer an effective, easily connected to patient, cable system, especially in Holter and stress monitoring applications where the patient is in motion. Having the lead wires molded into the yoke delivers greater flexibility with extended life use, and, because connections between the shielded leads, trunk cable and yoke are permanently soldered to an internal PC board, artifact and noise is minimized. These cables feature wire jackets, yoke, strain reliefs and snaps molded of Santoprene for patient comfort and ease of cleaning. Santoprene is impervious to most cleaning solutions and solvents, and complies with EtO sterilization guidelines.

Low Loss and High Performance Cable Connectors

Semi-Rigid Cable Assemblies

Straight semi-rigid cable assemblies are available as stock items in lengths from 4 inches to 24 inches. Both formable and standard semi-rigid cables are used. Bent assemblies are available as custom items.

Cutomer-Terminated Pigtail Assemblies

There are times and applications where an assembly needs to be run through conduit, panel enclosures or threaded through tight spaces. Having one end open allows installation of the cable itself followed by termination after placement.

When you know one end of the assembly, but are not sure of your length or which connector you need at the other end, our extensive line of pigtail assemblies should meet your requirements. One end is terminated as shown, but the other end is blunt-cut, ready to be stripped and terminated with a connector of your choice.

To determine your cable assembly part number, simply replace the XX at the end of the number shown with the length in inches you require. The cost of your assembly will then be quoted based upon that length. Overall tolerance is +2"-0, from end to end

Bonded Leadwire Sets for Ambulatory (Holter) Monitoring

This new series of leadwires is designed for use in Ambulatory Monitoring applications. FCC Part Compliant Connectors and Cable Assemblies

According to FCC Regulations Part 15.203, under certain applications it is illegal to replace a stock antenna with one that provides higher gain. The FCC has issued an edict calling for a unique connector, thereby prohibiting the attachment of any other connector type. Some examples of compliance to this regulation are:

  • Reverse Threads
  • Reverse Polarity/Reverse Gender
  • Non-Standard Threads
  • Non-Standard Shells

We offer not only these unique connectors but also a variety of cable assemblies incorporating these connectors. The cable assemblies are available in standard as well as special order lengths.

Reverse Polarity/Reverse Gender connectors satisfy FCC Regulation 15 by switching dielectrics and pins/contacts between genders. For example, a Reverse Gender Male consists of a male body, however, the dielectric and contact are female. Reverse Polarity connectors and adapters will not mate with standard coaxial connectors. To attempt to do so will damage the connector.

Reverse Thread configurations use left-hand threads rather than the Standard Unified Screw Thread.

The Non-Standard Threads/Shells category incorporates two methods of modifications: extended metric threads and modified shells. The metric threads on the TNCs are incorporated on both females and males preventing interface with regular connectors. Because female metric threads are elongated, interface with a quick-disconnect male connector is prevented.
